President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to address the nation today

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is expected to make a special statement at 7:30 pm today, as announced by the Department of Government Information.  Additionally, an Extraordinary Gazette notification issued by President Dissanayake, dissolving the Parliament of Sri Lanka effective from midnight yesterday, has been released by the Department of Government Printing.

Yesterday, President Dissanayake appointed Dr. Harini Amarasuriya as the new Prime Minister.  Additionally, a new Cabinet comprising 15 ministries under three ministers was also established.

Meanwhile, the newly appointed provincial governors will take their oaths of office in the presence of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The new governors will be sworn in today, marking a significant change in the provincial administration of Sri Lanka.
