US is looking forward to working closely

The US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung says the United States looks forward to working closely with the candidate Sri Lankan voters choose to lead their country.

Posting a message on ‘ X’  to mark the International Day of Democracy, US Ambassador highlighted that this day celebrates the principles of strong and stable democracy, like accountability, human rights, justice.

She said it is celebrated to ensure that every individual has a say in shaping their future through elections. She added that nothing is more important to Sri Lanka’s democracy than holding free and fair elections.
