Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha election to be held on October 26

Galle District Returning Officer W.A. Wickramasiri says 8 recognized political parties and one independent group have qualified to contest the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha election.

Nominations for the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha election closed today at 12 noon, with a half-hour window provided afterward for filing objections. A total of 10 political parties and 2 independent groups submitted deposits for the election.

The election is scheduled to be held on the 26^th of next month, with 55,643 registered voters expected to cast their votes at 48 polling centres. The election will select 28 members for the Pradeshiya Sabha, according to Returning Officer Wickramasiri.
