A common amnesty period of 2 months has been declared for the illegally without visa

A common visa amnesty period of 2 months has been declared for the groups who are staying in the United Arab Emirates illegally without visa.

The registration of persons, customs and the authority in port security in the Emirates said that this programme will be implemented from tomorrow to the 31st of October.

During this period the individuals living illegally in the country can legalise their residency status or depart without facing any penalties.

The Federal Authority, as cited by the Khaleej Times, said that people who choose to leave the country during the amnesty period will not be subject to overstay fines, exit fees or entry bans. This means they have the right to re-enter the UAE at any time as long as they have valid visas and related documents. The UAE authorities said the visa amnesty program promotes “respect for the law, tolerance, compassion and social cohesion”.
