5The Chairman of the Election Commission, R.M.A.L. Rathnayake, has announced that representatives from 12 countries have been invited to observe the presidential election. Among these countries are India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the Maldives.
Observers from these countries are expected to monitor all activities related to the presidential election, including the voting process, and will be required to submit a report afterward.
European Union and Commonwealth observers are already present in the country, and a group of South Asian election observers is expected to arrive in the near future.
The Chairman stated that permission for election observation has been granted in response to requests from these organizations.Election Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake has confirmed that all arrangements are in place to conduct the presidential election in a free and fair manner.
Postal voting will take place on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of the coming month. All necessary instructions have been issued and finalized. He has requested postal voters to cast their votes on the designated dates assigned to them.
