EU observers spread across Sri Lanka for Presidential Election oversight.

A European Union Election Observation Mission, consisting of 26 observers, departed from Colombo this morning to cover all districts in Sri Lanka as part of their monitoring activities for the upcoming presidential election.

The mission is led by European Parliament Member Nacho Sánchez Amor. The primary objectives of the EU delegation are to support Sri Lanka’s democratic process, enhance confidence in the electoral process, and promote respect for human rights and the rule of law.
