President Wickremasinghe’s election manifesto unveiled.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe officially launched his 2024 Presidential Election manifesto, “Five Years of Winning the Country with Ranil,” in a ceremony held in Colombo. The event, attended by Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, several ministers, parliamentarians, political leaders, and religious figures, marked the beginning of his campaign as an independent candidate.
The manifesto outlines five key pillars: “Theravada Trade Economy,” “Operation – Beyond 2025,” “Make a Radiant Society,” “Win the Motherland,” and “Unite Sri Lanka.” Wickremesinghe emphasized his commitment to realistic promises, focusing on economic growth, job creation, tax relief, and social welfare programs like ‘Aswesuma’ and ‘Urumaya.’
During the launch, the president promised to create 100,000 new jobs as a first step in his plan to expand the job market and stimulate income generation. He also introduced a website, www.ranil2024.lk, where the full manifesto can be accessed, reiterating his goal to lead Sri Lanka to a prosperous future over the next five years.
