Tourism Excellence Awards Set for January 2027

It is in this spirit that the Sri Lanka Tourism Excellence Awards – 2026 has been launched as a prestigious national initiative to celebrate outstanding achievements across the tourism and hospitality sector and to inspire organizations to pursue ever higher standards of excellence.
The Awards aim to recognize and honour exemplary performers among hotels, restaurants, tourism marketers and hospitality service providers who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in service excellence, customer experience, product quality, innovation, sustainability, operational excellence, and leadership. More than an awards programme, this initiative is a national movement designed to promote a culture of excellence, encourage innovation, and strengthen Sri Lanka’s position as a world-class tourism destination.
The evaluation framework of the Awards has been carefully developed based on internationally accepted best practices and industry standards. Participating organizations will be assessed under seven key dimensions: Service Excellence, Customer Experience, Product Quality, Innovation, Distinctiveness and Global Reach, Sustainability and Responsible Practices, Consistency, Operational Excellence and Performance, and Leadership and Industry Impact. These criteria reflect the qualities that define world-class tourism enterprises and provide a robust framework for measuring excellence in a fair, transparent, and objective manner.
To ensure the highest standards of credibility and independence, the Awards are governed through a three-tier structure comprising an Advisory Committee, a Technical Committee, and an independent Panel of Judges. The Advisory Committee is responsible for the overall administration, governance, and strategic oversight of the Awards. The Technical Committee has been entrusted with developing the awards framework, evaluation criteria, assessment methodologies, and conducting the technical evaluation process. The final decisions regarding winners will be made independently by an eminent Panel of Judges based on the evidence presented and the scores obtained through the rigorous assessment process. This governance structure has been designed to uphold transparency, impartiality, and integrity at every stage of the competition.
