Paddy and rice stocks report will be handed over to the President.

The Chairman of the Consumer Affairs Authority, Hemantha Samarakoon, says that the report prepared on paddy and rice stocks will be handed over to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake today.

It includes data from four districts including Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Ampara. The survey information that has been conducted at the district level has been forwarded to the Secretary of the Ministry of Trade.

Surveys are now underway regarding paddy and rice stocks held by mill owners in 10 more districts.

The Chairman also said that the survey was conducted in accordance with the instructions given by the Ministry of Trade to investigate the paddy and rice stocks in the remaining identified districts and submit a report.
