The Opposition leader places deposit to contest the 2024 presidential election
Samagi Jana Balawegaya General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara has placed a deposit with the Election Commission on behalf of party leader Sajith Premadasa as a candidate for the 2024 Presidential Election. He had placed the deposit this morning at the Election Commission Office in Rajagiriya.
Meanwhile, Commissioner General of the Human Rights Commission Attorney At Law Nimal Punchihewa says that it has decided to issue a set of guidelines regarding the activities of the institutes and the officials, during the election period. He also pointed out that the partial policies of the state officials will result in the violation of human rights of the people. This decision has been taken considering this issue.
